On Monday, the Sacramento River Cats completed a 7-1 homestand with an impressive 9-0 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The River Cats played well in all aspects of the game. Starter Travis Banwart limited the Sky Sox to three hits and one walk in seven innings and reliever Trystan Magnuson finished off the shutout with two impressive innings of his own.
On the offensive-side of the ledger, leadoff hitter Jemile Weeks had three hits and two RBIs and he stole home. Wes Timmons also added three hits, two of which were doubles, and Eric Sogard and Steven Tolleson had two hits apiece.
The River Cats flew to Memphis on Tuesday morning and will begin an eight-game roadtrip on Tuesday night with a tilt versus the Redbirds.
