Q&A With A's 12th-Round Pick Xavier Macklin

TROY, NY - In an organization hurting for power, 2011 12th-round pick Xavier Macklin might be the salve. The North Carolina A&T star blasted 22 homeruns this season and 49 over a three-year collegiate career. Donald Moore caught-up with Macklin last weekend to discuss his transition to the pros and more.

Xavier Macklin did it all for North Carolina A&T during his three-year collegiate career. The outfielder hit for average, for power and he was a run-producer. The Rocky Mount, NC, native finished the year with the fourth-highest slugging percentage in all of college baseball. Macklin signed with the A's quickly after being drafted and was sent to short-season Vermont to play for the Lake Monsters...
