Huttenlocker Keeping It Simple

Huttenlocker has a nearly 5:1 K:BB ratio.

STOCKTON - If pitching were like presidential campaigning, A.J. Huttenlocker would be running on the platform "It's Throwing Strikes, Stupid." The left-hander believes in pounding the strike-zone and has used that philosophy to post standout numbers for the High-A Stockton Ports this season.

Sometimes finding the key to being successful in professional baseball can be complicated. But other times, it can be exceedingly straight-forward. For A.J. Huttenlocker, the key couldn't be more simple. "Just throw strikes," the Stockton left-handed reliever said. Thus far, that approach has served the 2009 45th-round pick well.
