The Oakland A's play their final Cactus League game on Wednesday and head to Japan for their season-opening series versus the Seattle Mariners. Both the A's and Mariners are allowed 30 players on their roster for the series. With two more roster moves made on Tuesday, the A's are down to those 30 players.

On Tuesday, the Oakland A's optioned two players to Triple-A, right-hander Brad Peacock and left-hander Pedro Figueroa. With those two moves, the A's finalized their 30-man roster for their trip to Japan. That 30-man roster will include 27 players currently on the A's official 40-man roster and three non-roster invitees.

The A's will be carrying 14 pitchers, two catchers, eight infielders and six outfielders. Brandon McCarthy is scheduled to be the A's Opening Day starter, while Bartolo Colon is on tap for the second game against Seattle. The A's are also bringing starters Graham Godfrey, Tom Milone and Tyson Ross. Oakland has yet to decide on a fifth starter, as the team won't need one until mid-April.

Oakland's current bullpen includes newly named closer Grant Balfour, right-handers Andrew Carignan, Ryan Cook and Fautino De Los Santos, and left-handers Brian Fuentes, Jerry Blevins and Jordan Norberto. Non-roster right-handed relievers Travis Schlichting and Evan Scribner are also part of the Japan contingent.

Josh Donaldson appears to have won the A's starting third base job, at least for now. Back-ups Adam Rosales, Eric Sogard and non-roster infielder Wes Timmons are also on the Japan trip. The A's will carry two first-basemen (Brandon Allen and Kila Ka'aihue), although when the team returns to the States, Allen and Ka'aihue will continue their competition with Daric Barton for the A's starting first base job.

Oakland will be taking six outfielders to Japan and only one was part of the organization last season - Coco Crisp. Newcomers Yoenis Cespedes, Collin Cowgill, Jonny Gomes, Josh Reddick and Seth Smith will join Crisp in the A's outfield. All six are strong candidates to remain on the A's roster when the US portion of the season begins.
