WEST SACRAMENTO – It was a dream season for Oakland A's prospect Jermaine Mitchell in 2011, but it had far from a dream ending. Mitchell opened a lot of eyes by posting a .332/.430/.530 line for Triple-A Sacramento and Double-A Midland. But instead of finishing the year by making his major league debut, Mitchell found himself on the operating table.
