Just before the signing deadline, the Oakland A's announced they had come to terms with their second round pick, right-handed pitcher Nolan Sanburn. The A's were able to sign 32 of their 43 picks from the 2012 draft. Third round pick Kyle Twomey, a left-handed pitcher from El Dorado High School in Southern California, will go to USC rather than sign with the A's.
Oakland also failed to sign 11th round pick Matt Gonzalez, 12th round pick Johnny Caputo, 17th round pick Tyler Olson, 34th round pick Devon Gradford, 35th round pick Brett Sunde, 36th round pick Connor Williams, 38th round pick Calvin Drummond, 39th round pick Dalton Blaser and 40th round pick David Olmedo-Barrera. All of the A's unsigned picks except for Olson (college redshirt junior) and Drummond (college junior) were high school draft selections.
