It hasn't been a memorable season for the Vermont Lake Monsters, but they had a night no one in attendance will ever forget on Saturday night. J.C. Menna, Deyvi Jimenez and Ryan Dull combined to toss a no-hitter, the first in the Oakland A's system this season.

In the 18 year history of the Vermont Lake Monsters, no one had accomplished what J.C. Menna, Devji Jimenez and Ryan Dull pulled off on Saturday night. The trio of Oakland A's prospects no-hit the Tri-City Valley Cats.

Menna tossed the first six innings. He made good use of his infielders, recording 11 groundball outs. According to an interview Menna did with MiLB.com after the start, the right-hander used a new side-arm slot in game action for the first time. Menna walked four and struck-out two.

Jimenez took over in the seventh inning and he breezed through two innings of work. He struck-out three and then turned the ball over to 2012 draft pick Ryan Dull to close out the no-hitter. Dull struck-out two and earned his fourth save of the season.

The Lake Monsters didn't generate much offense of their own, but it was enough. Vermont scored two runs on six hits. Bruce Maxwell and Daniel Robertson drove-in runs. Brett Vertigan and Jacob Tanis each had two hits.

Vermont has four more games on their 2012 schedule. This was the final start of the year for Menna.
