Clarkin Still Getting His Feet Wet

TAMPA, FL. – The New York Yankees selected Ian Clarkin, a left-handed pitcher, in the first round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. He ended his senior year of high school by striking out 133 batters and an astonishingly low ERA of 0.95. However, an injury to the ankle withheld the 18-year old from first professional debut until recent weeks. The pitcher referred to his disappointment.

"You know I was doing, we were doing some stretching exercises and my cleat got caught in the ground," Clarkin said. "My front cleat got caught and my ankle, I just completely rolled over my ankle.
