A's Set Their ALDS Roster

The Oakland A's have set their roster for the ALDS. Most of the roster was what was expected, but there was one surprise in the starting rotation.

Earlier this week, we speculated on which players would be included on the Oakland A's 25-man roster for the American League Division Series against the Detroit Tigers. The A's made their roster public on Tuesday, and it was mostly what was anticipated. There was one surprise in the starting rotation, however.

Before Tuesday, it was assumed that the A's would use a rotation of Bartolo Colon, Jarrod Parker, A.J. Griffin and Sonny Gray. It turns out that Griffin will not be available for the ALDS, as he is battling elbow tendinitis. Instead, the A's will go with Colon in Game One, Gray in Game Two, Parker in Game Three and Dan Straily in Game Four (if necessary).

The rest of the A's roster fell mostly as expected. Daric Barton, Seth Smith and Kurt Suzuki captured the final three spots. Below is the entire 25-man roster.
