A Title Season In Review: Midland

After having three league champions in 2004, the only Oakland A's affiliate to make the final round of a league playoffs in 2005 was the Midland Rockhounds. The Rockhounds made certain that the A's would have at least one champion amongst their ranks on Saturday when they captured the Texas League title. Midland's powerful offense and steadfast elief corps gave the Rockhounds their first Texas League title in twenty years.

When closer Alex Santos struck out Arkansas's Jason Aspito to secure the Rockhounds' 6-5 victory over the Travelers, it capped a stellar season for the A's AA affiliate.
