On Tuesday, the Sacramento River Cats hosted the Stockton Ports in a scrimmage between the Oakland A's two California-based minor league affiliates. We have photos from the events at Raley Field.

First baseman Daric Barton follows a foul ball during his first at-bat of the scrimmage. He would later single.

Stockton left-hander Ben Jukich got the start for the Ports. He threw 70 pitches in preparation for his first start of the season this weekend. Jukich is the only 2006 draft pick on the Ports.

Kevin Melillo got the start for Sacramento and wasted no time getting his jersey dirty. The second baseman hit over .400 in major league camp this spring.

Stockton catcher Anthony Recker hangs on to a foul tip. Recker has put a lot of time into improving his defense behind the plate.

Sacramento's Donnie Murphy cracks a base-hit into the gap. Murphy was a surprise star in major league camp this spring. He was acquired off of waivers from the Royals during the off-season.

Stockton's Justin Sellers readies himself in between pitches. The 2005 draft pick played second base during the scrimmage after playing short at Kane County last season.

Sacramento's Lou Merloni gives the River Cats a veteran presence. The infielder hit a homer during the scrimmage.

Stockton's Cliff Pennington is looking for a rebound season after struggling with injuries in 2006. He had two hits in the scrimmage, including a double to lead-off the game.

Brian Stavisky is back in Sacramento. The Notre Dame alum began last season with the River Cats, but he finished the season in Midland.

Stockton's Luke Appert appears to be back to 100 percent after missing the second half of last season with a broken ankle. Appert was the first Port to bat at Banner Island Ballpark during the park's inaugural season in 2005.

Sacramento's hard-throwing reliever Santiago Casilla struggled last season with a sore right shoulder. He threw some impressive off-speed pitches during the scrimmage.

After batting .346 last season in Kane County, Chad Boyd was put in the third slot in the Stockton batting order on Tuesday.

Lefty Ron Flores spent much of last season with the A's. He is back in Sacramento to work on getting out left-handed hitters and is likely to see time up in Oakland at some point this season.
