Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starter Dustin Moseley
got the start for Salt Lake in a rehab assignment. Moseley was roughed up for three runs in the first inning and five runs in 4.1 innings of work.
greeted Moseley rather rudely, smacking a long homerun to left-center field to lead-off the game for Sacramento. It was Chavez's third extra-base hit in the last two games for Sacramento.
Carlos Gonzalez takes a big swing and just misses in the first inning. He would single later in the at-bat and come around to score. Gonzalez scored twice in the game and made a diving catch in center.
extended Moseley's first inning pain, driving-in two runs with a two-out single.
Salt Lake's Dee Brown
takes a swing. Brown was a key member of the River Cats' 2007 PCL Championship squad and a late-season member of the A's. Brown went 0-3 with two strike-outs and a walk in the game.

makes the play from shortstop. He has been filling in at short since Gregorio Petit's promotion to the big leagues.
attempts to throw-out Eric Chavez from his knees in the fifth inning. Chavez was safe on the play with a single that opened a big inning for the River Cats. Chavez went 2-4 with two runs scored and an RBI on Sunday.

walked. At that point, Daniel Austen relieved Dustin Moseley with two-on and one-out. Austen allowed both runners to score and two more of his own to cross the plate.
One of the River Cats' four runs in the fifth inning was unearned. Jeff Baisley hit a groundball to the pitcher with the bases-loaded. Austen threw the ball home for the force-out and then catcher Bobby Wilson
threw to first to try to complete the double-play...
...Wilson's throw hit Baisley and bounced high over first baseman Kendry Morales' head and into foul territory. One run scored on the play and two more runs scored on a Brooks Conrad single later in the inning.
Gio Gonzalez was outstanding in his start on Sunday. In six innings, he allowed one run on four hits and two walks. He struck-out nine and earned his first win of the season.
The Bees turn two on a Todd Linden
grounder. Linden went 2-4 with two runs scored in the game.
Rehabbing Oakland A's reliever Kiko Calero
came-in for Gonzalez in the seventh inning. He retired the first five batters he faced before allowing a hit and a walk at the end of his outing. Calero worked 1.2 scoreless innings and he struck-out two.
Kevin Melillo connects for a single. He went 1-3 with a walk as the River Cats' number three hitter.
Jeff Baisley welcomed O'Day into the game with a homerun to start the eighth. Baisley drove home three runs in the game and raised his average to .285.

The River Cats celebrated their 26th win of the season and their third straight win over Salt Lake. Sacramento won the series over the Bees, who entered the series with only eight losses on the season.
