SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento River Cats got off to a fast start at the plate and didn't look back on Sunday, routing the Tucson Sidewinders by a score of 11-1. We have photos from the game inside...

Lefty Gio Gonzalez took the mound on Sunday looking to bounce back from a rough outing on Monday versus Salt Lake.

Tucson sent right-hander A. J. Shappi to the mound on Sunday.

Gregorio Petit and the River Cats got to Shappi early. Petit began the game for Sacramento with this double to right-center.

Brooks Conrad followed Petit with a drag bunt single that moved Petit to third.

Wes Bankston followed Conrad with a single to center, scoring Petit.

Tucson shortstop Jesus Merchan helped to stem the tide, at least temporarily, in the first with this nice catch on a Casey Rogowski pop-up.

Richie Robnett added to the River Cats' tally in the first with a two-run double to right-center. The double scored two runners. He would add another two-run double later in the game. He has 11 RBIs and 12 doubles in 29 games since being activated off of the DL.

The River Cats carried that early 3-0 lead into the fourth inning, when Jesus Guzman launched a solo homerun into the Jackson Rancheria Home Run Terrace in left. It was Guzman's first homerun for Sacramento and his 14th on the year. He finished the game 2-4.

Shappi lasted only four innings, allowing four runs on six hits. He was replaced by Jason Urquidez (pictured), who worked two scoreless innings in relief.

Tucson's Alex Romero make a nice running catch in center.

Gio Gonzalez was brilliant once again for Sacramento, extending his pattern of succeeding at home at Raley Field. He carried a shut-out until there were two-outs in the sixth inning and he finished with a line of one run allowed in six innings. He struck-out seven, walked four and allowed three hits. Gonzalez has 90 strike-outs in 87.2 innings this season.

Chris Denorfia (right) and Dan Meyer look on. Denorfia joined the River Cats on Sunday, officially beginning his rehab assignment. He has been on the A's DL with tightness in his back.

Brooks Conrad looks at a ball. He had a hit and a walk and he scored two runs in the game.

The game was relatively quiet until the seventh inning, when reliever Jailen Peguero entered for Tucson. He was touched for four runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth.

Two of those runs came on a Wes Bankston two-run homer in the eighth inning. Bankston has 13 homers and 47 RBIs for Sacramento this season.

Tucson's Emilio Bonifacio makes the play from second base. The D-Backs prospect went 2-4 with a run scored on Sunday.

Chris Gissell took over for Gonzalez in the seventh and he worked three scoreless innings to earn his first save of the year.

Gissell got some defensive help. Wes Bankston makes the tag on his unassisted double-play in the seventh...

...And shortstop Gregorio Petit ranged deep into the hole between third and short to snare a groundball and force a runner at second base for the second out in the ninth.

The River Cats celebrate their 49th win of the season. They took the series from Tucson three games to one.
