This past Sunday, the Oakland A's officially opened their 2010 minor league spring training camp when pitchers and catchers reported to the A's facility at Papago Park. Position players are scheduled to report on Saturday.

The A's minor leaguers will play a 14-game spring schedule against the minor leaguers for the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starting on March 19. Below is the game schedule. All home games take place at Papago Park and are free of charge to the general public. No tickets are required to watch the games. Each organization divides its minor leaguers in camp into four teams: a Triple-A squad, a Double-A squad, a High-A squad and a Low-A squad. The Triple-A and Double-A teams travel together, as do the High-A and Low-A squads. All games start at 1pm Arizona time.

A's System Notes

• A's Minor League Pitching Coordinator Gil Patterson says that right-hander Michael Ynoa has been throwing "very well" in the early days of the A's minor league spring training camp.

Landon Powell was nominated to be a member the College World Series Legends Team. The team will be honored at the 2010 College World Series in Omaha and will include the players who had the best College World Series performances over the past 60 years.

Michael Taylor hit his first homerun as a member of the A's organization in Oakland's 7-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. It was a three-run shot.

Jeff Baisley (shoulder), Toddric Johnson (shoulder), Dusty Coleman (wrist) and Josh Horton (elbow) will all be reporting to minor league spring training late thanks to off-season surgeries.

Raul Padron and Brad Knox have signed with the Camden Riversharks and Brant Colmarino (who missed the past two seasons with a shoulder injury) has signed with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League.

Mike Wood has signed with the Rockford RiverHawks of the independent Northern League.

Myron Leslie had his contract purchased from the New Jersey Jackals of the independent Can-Am League by the New York Yankees.

Larry Cobb has signed with the Joilet Jackhammers of the independent Northern League.
