| Signed as a free-agent from the Oakland Athletics on December 21, 2001 to a four-year, $31 million deal, Damon hit .273 with 12 homers, 30 steals, and 67 RBIs in 2003. The speedster has been the team’s leadoff hitter over the last two seasons, swiping 61 bases in the process. He holds the AL record by going errorless in 593 consecutive chances (May 4, 2001 - August 31, 2003). |
