| Drafted by the Seattle Mariners with the 14th overall selection in the 1994 amateur draft. Shipped to Red Sox, along with Derek Lowe, at the trade deadline in 1997 for Heathcliff Slocumb. Made first All-Star team in 2003 when he hit .273 with 25 homers and 85 RBI. Ninth in the league with 39 doubles. Career .265 hitter with 79 homers and 345 RBI in seven seasons, all with Boston. Signed to 3-year deal in April of 2001 and is set to become free agent following 2004 season. |
