Made MLB debut for Orioles, 8/21/91, as a starting pitcher in Texas, allowing three runs and four hits over four innings. ... First MLB win was 7/9/92, over Minnesota when he gave up two runs and six hits over 7 2-3 innings. ... Used strictly as a starter until 1995 and blossomed as a top setup man in 1996, going 9-1 with one save and striking out 62 in 53 innings. ... Followed that by going 10-3 with one save and 102 strikeouts in 95 1-3 innings in 1997. ... Best season came in 2001, his second year with Seattle.
