Acquired:
Acquired by the A's in a four-player trade with the Atlanta Braves involving Juan Cruz, Charles Thomas and Tim Hudson in December 2004.
2004 Highlights:
* Won nine games between AA-Greenville and AAA-Richmond.
* Had an ERA under 2.50 for the season.
* Struck out 146 batters in 126 minor league innings.
* Threw two major league innings in September. Didn't allow a run and struck out one batter.
Career Highlights:
* Compiled a 2.87 ERA and struck out 158 batters in 160 minor league innings in 2003.
* Had a 0.99 WHIP in his first professional season in the rookie league (66 IP).
