Selected by the A's in the first round (16th overall) of the June 2002 Draft. Signed on June 14, 2002.
2004 Highlights:
* Led the PCL with 103 walks.
* Hit 29 homeruns and drove in 92 runs in only 125 games.
* Amassed a .406 OBP and a 943 OPS.
* Scored 109 runs.
* Recalled to Oakland in September and appeared in 20 games.
* Walked in his first major league at-bat.
* Hit his first major league homerun in his third game in Toronto. His second major league homerun won a game for the A's on September 11.
* Played in the outfield and at first base for the A's. Played in centerfield for Sacramento.
Career Highlights:
* Had a strong start to his 2003 season in Modesto, hiting .296 with 10 HR and 43 RBI in 51 games.
* Struggled in AA-Midland after a mid-season promotion in 2003.
* A strong showing in spring training 2004 earned Swisher a promotion to AAA despite his struggles in AA.
