Selected by the A's in the first round (24th overall) of the June 2002 Draft. Selected as the compenstation pick for Jason Giambi. Signed on July 20, 2002.
2004 Highlights:
* Made 28 starts for Triple-A Sacramento.
* Went 11-8 with a 4.19 ERA.
* Threw one complete game.
* Averaged 7.30 K:9.
* Had only 34 walks in 176 innings pitched.
* Started the 2004 Futures Game for the USA Team. Threw one scoreless inning.
