Selected by the Oakland A's in the 17th round of the June 2000 Draft.
2004 Highlights:
* Had a solid second season for the A's.
* Went 11-7 with a 3.99 ERA.
* Ranked 8th in the AL in SO, 6th in BAA, and 10th in ERA.
* Went 8-2 in the second half of the season.
* Threw 8.2 shutout innings against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 20 but received a no decision in the A's 1-0, 14 inning victory.
Career Highlights:
* Made 13 starts and two relief appearances in his rookie season in 2002 and went 5-4 with a 4.46 ERA.
* Was the winning pitcher in Game One of the 2003 ALDS. Was the losing pitcher in Game Three of the same series.
* Started the 2003 season with 13 innings of perfect baseball for Midland (AA) and was then promoted to Sacramento.
* Named to the PCL (AAA) All-Star team in 2003.
