Career Stats

Current Contract:
Signed a two-year, $2.9 million contract on December 13, 2005.

2006: $1,450,000
2007: $1,450,000

Agent: Dave Stewart

Became a Cardinal:
Signed as a free agent on December 13, 2005.

2006 Season:
Rincon made just five appearances for the Cardinals, posting a 10.80 ERA, before being placed on the disabled list on April 28 with a torn labrum and rotator cuff. He underwent surgery on May 11 to repair the labrum and rotator cuff. He also had reconstructive surgery on his left elbow. It is believed that his participation for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic factored into his injuries.

Career Notes:
Rincon began playing in the Mexican League in 1990 and would continue doing so until the Pittsburgh Pirates purchased his contract from the Mexico City Reds on May 30, 1997. On November 18, 1998, the Pirates sent him to the Cleveland Indians, straight-up, for outfielder Brian Giles. He would spend almost four seasons in Cleveland before being traded to the Oakland A's for Marshall McDougall on July 30, 2002. In 557 career appearances, Rincon has a 3.58 ERA, striking out 397 and walking 200 in 439.2 innings.
