| Biography: |
Conrad signed as a minor-league free agent with the A's in December 2007. He had spent the previous seven years in the Houston Astros' chain. The switch-hitting infielder has a career .263 BA with 114 homers and an 812 OPS in 876 games.
Conrad is a second baseman who can play third base and some shortstop. He has hit 20 or more homeruns in each of the past three seasons. His career-best season came in 2006 when he hit .267 with 24 homers, 79 extra-base hits, 94 RBIs and an 868 OPS with Triple-A Round Rock. Conrad hit .218 with 22 homers and a 725 OPS for Round Rock in 2007.
