| Biography: |
Eveland was one of six players acquired by the A's from Arizona in the Dan Haren trade. The lefty was the only player the A's received in that deal with major-league experience. Eveland has 41 career major-league appearances for Milwaukee and Arizona and he has a 7.55 ERA in 64.1 major league innings.
Eveland has had a lot more success in the minors. In 413.2 innings in the minors, he has a 2.61 ERA and 406 strike-outs. He threw only 37.2 innings in 2007 thanks to a finger injury that cost him a big chunk of the season. He competed in the Mexican Winter League this past off-season to make-up for the time lost to the finger injury. In 61 innings with Mexicali, Eveland had a 2.51 ERA and 69 strike-outs.
