| Biography: |
Garcia was claimed off of waivers by the A's from the Florida Marlins' organization during the off-season. He was removed from the A's 40-man roster in December and rejoined the organization as a non-roster player.
Garcia missed all of the 2007 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in May 2007. The right-hander was the Marlins' Minor League Pitcher of the YEar in 2006. He also made his major-league debut late in the 2006 season with Florida. In 11 major-league innings, Garcia had a 4.91 ERA and eight strike-outs. He has a career ERA of 2.80 in 199 innings in the minors.
