STOCKTON - Things are starting to come together for the Stockton Ports. The Oakland A's High-A affiliate has won eight consecutive ballgames to move their season record to 38-32. With a little humidity in the air and temperatures in the low-80s, it felt like an evening in Hawaii at Banner Island Ballpark on Saturday night. The Stockton Ports celebrated Hawaiian night with a 4-3 victory over Rancho Cucamonga that had plenty of fireworks, with four homeruns in the game.

Stockton starter Robert Gilliam allowed one of those four homeruns, but he earned the win by allowing three runs in five innings pitched. He struck-out two and walked two and scattered seven hits. Gilliam moved to 7-4 on the season with the win.

The right-hander got support from his offense and his bullpen. Down 2-0 in the third, Stockton pulled into a tie with the Quakes when Dusty Coleman blasted a two-run homer. Stockton fell behind 3-2 in the top of the fourth, but pulled into a tie once again in the bottom half of the inning on Anthony Aliotti's solo homerun. Leonardo Gil gave Stockton their first lead of the game with a homer in the fifth inning to make it 4-3 Stockton. That was all the Ports' bullpen would need.

Relievers Brett Hunter and Jose Guzman combined to retire all 12 batters they faced to close out the win. They both struck-out two. Hunter earned his fourth hold and lowered his ERA to 1.35 and Guzman notched his 10th save and lowered his ERA to 1.83.

Gil had three hits in three at-bats, while Aliotti had two hits and a walk and Jason Christian also had two hits and a walk to lead the Stockton offense.
