Burlington Bees Notebook: Sailing Along

Now healthy, Kirby-Jones is heating up.

It has been a very successful season thus far for the Oakland A's Low-A affiliate, the Burlington Bees. June wasn't a great month for the Bees, however, as they went 11-13. Despite the mediocre record, the Bees are still sitting pretty in the Midwest League, having already secured a playoff berth and boasting a 49-29 overall record through Friday. Bill Seals updates us on the Bees.

Team Overview Burlington set the first-half pace in the Midwest League, and it was a torrid one as Aaron Nieckula's squad won the Western Division going away with a 45-25 record. Six players were selected to last week's MWL All-Star Game in Davenport, Iowa, including starting pitcher Blake Hassebrock and 2010 second-round pick Yordy Cabrera.
