Quick Hits With A's Prospect Jose Macias

Macias is back with Burlington.

TROY, NY - One of the more intriguing players taken in the 2010 draft by the Oakland A's was right-hander Jose Macias. Macias had an 0.87 ERA for Franklin Pierce College in 2010 before posting a 3.00 ERA in 21 innings for the AZL A's and the Kane County Cougars. Macias had that success despite the fact that it was his first full year as a pitcher, having converted from the infield.

In 2011, Jose Macias has split his season between the New York-Penn League and the Midwest League. Currently with the Burlington Bees, Macias has a 5.93 ERA in seven Midwest League starts, although that number jumped considerably after his last start with Burlington, during which he allowed eight runs in 1.2 innings.
