Griffin, Choice Lead Stockton To Win

Griffin struck-out 11 in seven brilliant innings.

The Stockton Ports moved within one win of the California League Championship Series with a 7-0 shellacking of the San Jose Giants on Monday night.

After splitting the first two games of the series in San Jose, the Stockton Ports took a lead in the North Division series with a 7-0 win over the Giants.

Starter A.J. Griffin was nearly flawless versus the Giants. The right-hander struck-out 11, walked none and allowed only four hits over seven shut-out innings.

Centerfielder Michael Choice had a career night with five hits in five at-bats. He is batting .464 during the post-season. Batting in front of Choice, Conner Crumbliss had two hits, two walks and three runs scored. Leonardo Gil also added two hits and a walk.

The Ports can clinch a spot in the Cal League Championship series with a win over San Jose on Tuesday night. Recommended Stories
