Rockies make two picks on Monday

David Dahl compares to Johnny Damon

The Colorado Rockies selected high school outfielder David Dahl out of Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Ala., with the tenth overall pick in the Major League Baseball first-year player draft. 

Dahl is the second position player that the Rockies have selected with their first selection in the past three years. The club took left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson from Oregon last year and outfielder Kyler Parker from Clemson in 2010.  A 6-foot-2, 185-pound outfielder, Dahl, 18, throws right-handed and bats left.
