Marte Exceeding Expectations

Marte hit his sixth home run of the year on Friday

Almost halfway through his first season with the Binghamton Mets, third baseman Jefry Marte is continuing to improve upon his game. The Dominican Republic native was the youngest member of this B-Mets team until the recent call-ups from St. Lucie, and though he just turned 21 years old on Thursday, Marte is exceeding expectations.

"He's been good so far this season," manger Pedro Lopez said. "I've been impressed with how he's handled himself. This year coming in we thought he was going to have a harder time, especially at the plate, but he's done a good job. "He's been one of the most consistent hitters we have had in the lineup this year and hopefully it stays that way." Lopez isn't the only one who is impressed...
