Covey Looking To Command Midwest League

Covey is the A's first 2013 pick to reach Low-A.

CLINTON, IA - Three years after Dylan Covey's name was first called in the MLB draft, the right-hander finds himself finally in pro ball and on a fast track. The San Diego alum is the first member of the Oakland A's 2013 draft class to reach a full-season league. On a long leash, Covey is learning to pitch to more advanced competition.

Although he was drafted in the fourth round in this June's draft, Beloit's Dylan Covey believes he is a better all-around pitcher coming out of college than he was in 2010 when he was the 14th-overall selection as a high schooler.
