Nick Franklin's future with Seattle

Although he's having a strong spring, Nick Franklin has an uphill climb to crack the Mariners' Opening Day roster. And the chances of that in future seasons don't look much easier. But in an organization that has struggled to produce big league quality hitters, can the Mariners simply trade away Franklin, or should they look for ways to try and keep him in the fold?
