Buckeyes Striking Gold At Hubbard?

Buckeyes Striking Gold At Hubbard?

Ohio State has issued offers to a pair of Hubbard (OH) runningbacks, George Hill and L.J. Scott. How do the Buckeyes stand with each four-star prospect?

Hubbard will have one of the more stacked rosters in Ohio next season, and Ohio State has offered both of their four-star tailbacks, George Hill and L.J. Scott.

The players are separated by a year, with Scott heading into his senior season, while Hill is a rising junior. What are Ohio State's chances at landing each?

George Hill. 5-foot-11, 190-pounds. 2016 prospect. Being recruited as a slot receiver by the Buckeyes, but he could play runningback or defensive back as well. Has speed to burn.

THE SKINNY: Will be visiting Saturday with his head coach at Hubbard. Has already been to Ohio State with his family. I believe Hill is coming to Ohio State this weekend to firm up his commitment, and he should be listed as such by noon Saturday. Regardless, this recruitment is over and it's only dependent on Hill deciding when to make it public. I expect it to be tomorrow.

L.J. Scott. 6-foot-1, 230-pounds. 2015 prospect. Being recruited as a power back by the Buckeyes. Very similar to Warren Ball and Brionte Dunn in terms of size and talent. Ohio State is hoping Scott fills the Carlos Hyde role in the offense.

THE SKINNY: Will not be visiting this weekend, which has been falsely reported elsewhere. WILL be visiting next week, although I'm not sure of the exact date right now. WILL be visiting with his mother, one of the biggest keys in recruiting. Bringing mom signifies business, not a trip to hang out with the fellas. Do I expect a commitment to Ohio State on the visit, or soon after? Tough one to answer in terms of a definite time-frame, but this one has swung away from Michigan State and to the Buckeyes. I expect Ohio State to accept a commitment from L.J. Scott before summer ends.
